The Texas congressman is entitled to his views, no doubt.
But when Rep. Steve Stockman invited inflammatory 1970s rocker Ted Nugent to the State of the Union address as his guest, he showed his intent of making a mockery of the event.
You see, Nugent doesn?t just oppose President Obama on issues such as gun control, he has described the president as ?evil? and ?America hating? and described Obama and other Democrats as coyotes who should be shot.
Not to be outdone, Stockman has floated the idea of impeaching President Obama for his gun control proposals.
Nugent, a National Rifle Association board member, is all about making a scene, not making a difference. According to the New York Times, the musician best known for his 1977 song ?Cat Scratch Fever? and for wearing a raccoon tail on the back of his spandex pants, said he would come to the address unarmed.
?I will go in at least 20 pounds lighter than I normally walk,? he was quoted as saying in the New York Times. ?I will be going in sans the hardware store on my belt. I live a well-armed life, and I?ve got to demilitarize before I go.?
Well, thank goodness.
